About Me
I have experience providing counselling and psychotherapy in private practice, for NHS staff, and in charity settings, and I am experienced working in-person, via video call and via telephone.
I have particular experience working with those who are LGBTQIA+, and especially those who might have been told their mental health is ‘complex’, such as those who have a personality disorder, have experienced psychosis or have other diagnoses such as Bipolar or C-PTSD. Lots of my clients may feel caught in a gap between primary and secondary NHS mental health care.
I am also experienced in working with gender identity, ‘coming out’ and navigating the world as a queer person. I also have plentiful experience in working with anxiety, depression and trauma, as well as existential questions around meaning and identity, and finding your place in the world.
I consider my practice to be LGBTQIA+ centred, and I strongly believe that sexuality, gender identity, race, social class, disability or other social identities are interwoven with our mental wellbeing. Whoever you are, and whatever it is that's troubling you, I will meet you with curiosity and kindness.
I am passionate about providing accessible and flexible counselling for those who may be neurodivergent or have a chronic illness. I have a chronic illness myself and I understand the toil that navigating health systems and diagnoses can take on your day-to-day life. I strongly believe that counselling should be a space that is responsive to your needs, and I will do my best to accommodate you.
Alongside my experience working as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I have also worked in mental health more broadly within higher education, charities and NHS services.
