Practical Considerations

The practical considerations of counselling can be overwhelming. Below are some questions that might help you to clarify how you’d like your counselling to best serve your needs.

Do I feel most comfortable talking in my own space, or would I prefer to meet in person?

I offer in-person counselling for those based in Folkestone or across Kent, as well as online counselling via video call.

How often do I want to have sessions?

I offer sessions at different frequencies to meet your needs, and am always happy to tailor session frequency to best suit you.

How much can I afford to invest in sessions?

I charge £60 per session. Counselling can be expensive- if you have financial concerns please do let me know, as I can offer different options for payment as well as some concessionary lower cost slots, subject to availability.

My Counselling room

I offer in-person sessions from my counselling room at Lava Tanning & Co, in the heart of Folkestone. The space is cosy, private, and welcoming, designed to help you feel at ease from the moment you arrive.

The room is down one flight of stairs, and the venue has a single cubicle, gender-neutral toilet available. There is parking nearby at Lidl, Payer’s Park, Asda, or Folkestone Harbour, making it easy to access by car or on foot. My space is within commutable distance of Dover, Hythe and Cheriton.

An inclusive space

My space has lower lighting, and I provide snacks, water and fidget toys, as well as offering hygiene and personal care items. I understand that in order to talk about what’s difficult, you need to feel comfortable in your environment. The room is down one flight of stairs, and there is a signle cubicle, gender neutral toilet available.

My space is located in Folkestone town centre, and easily commutable to Dover, Hythe and Cheriton. There is parking nearby at Lidl, Shellons Street, Payers Park, Asda and Folkestone Harbour, and is located close to several bus routes. Folkestone Central station is a fifteen minute walk away.
